Logics Guru

Privacy Policy

The short version: this site collects as little as it can, sells nothing, and the developer tools do not send your data anywhere.

Logics Guru is operated as a sole trader registered in Pakistan. Questions about anything on this page can be sent to info@logicsguru.com, which is also the address to use for any request described under "Your rights" below.

The developer tools#

Almost every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. The JSON you paste, the token you decode, the image you resize, the text you hash — none of it is transmitted to us, logged, or stored. It never leaves your device. Each tool page states which of the two modes it is in, and the promise is only made where it is true.

There is one exception. The URL shortener stores the address you submit, because a short link only works if a server can look the destination up again later. Nothing else about you is kept with it.

To count how often a tool is used and to enforce usage limits, the site records that a tool ran — the tool's name, the time, and the daily visitor hash described below. What you typed into it is never part of that record.

What is collected, and when#

WhenWhat is keptWhy
You browse the sitePage address, referring site, and a daily visitor hashTo know which articles are read
You run a toolWhich tool, when, and the daily visitor hashUsage counts and abuse limits
You searchThe search term and how many results it returnedTo find out what is missing from the site
You send a message or report a problemWhatever you typed, plus your name and email if you gave themTo read it and reply
You subscribe to the newsletterYour email address, optional name, and the date you consentedTo send you the newsletter
You shorten a URLThe address you submitted and the code generated for itThe link cannot work otherwise

Your IP address is never stored#

This matters enough to state on its own. Instead of keeping your IP address, the site combines it with the current date and a secret key and stores only the resulting hash. That hash is stable for one day and useless the next, which is long enough to stop somebody hammering a tool and far too short to follow anyone around. The original address cannot be recovered from it.

There are no accounts for visitors, no advertising profiles built by this site, and no cross-site identifiers of our own.

Cookies#

CookiePurposeKept for
SessionSecurity on forms, and staying signed in if you are an administratorThe browsing session
lg_themeRemembers whether you chose light or dark modeOne year
lg_consentRemembers your cookie choices, so you are not asked againSix months

Those three are necessary for the site to work or to honour a preference you set. Anything beyond them is covered by the consent banner and stores nothing until you agree.

Third-party services#

Where the following are switched on, they are named here because they set their own cookies and receive data governed by their own policies, not this one.

  • Google Analytics — measures visits and which pages are read. No advertising or analytics storage happens until you accept it in the cookie banner.
  • Google AdSense — serves the advertising on this site. Decline advertising cookies and ads still appear, but are not personalised.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — protects the forms from automated abuse. It is treated as strictly necessary because it is a security measure with no measurement purpose, and it is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms.
  • Email delivery and hosting providers — process messages and requests in order to deliver them.

Your cookie choices can be changed at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

How long anything is kept#

  • Analytics and tool usage — retained in aggregate. The daily visitor hash stops being meaningful after a day regardless.
  • Messages, enquiries and problem reports — kept while they are useful, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — kept until you unsubscribe, which removes you immediately.
  • Short links — kept until deleted or reported.

Your rights#

Data protection law in Pakistan is still developing, so rather than offer the minimum, this site extends the following to everyone who uses it, wherever you are:

  • Ask what is held about you, and receive a copy
  • Have anything inaccurate corrected
  • Have it deleted
  • Withdraw consent — for cookies through the banner, for the newsletter through any unsubscribe link
  • Object to how it is being used

Email info@logicsguru.com and you will get a reply. In practice there is very little to hand over, because very little is collected.

Children#

This site is written for working developers and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and it will be removed.

Security#

The site is served over HTTPS, administrator accounts support two-factor authentication, and stored secrets are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and no honest policy claims otherwise — but the strongest protection here is simply that so little is collected in the first place.

Changes#

This policy may be updated. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and material changes will be noted here.
